The roads we drive on, the bridges we cross, and the buildings we walk up are some of the major contributions of the labor movement. Our country would be fundamentally different if the government, at one time, did not place a high value on the people who build this country everyday.
Which is why I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Happy Labor Day!
Labor Day can be credited to Secretary of the Central Labor Union (CLU) Matthew Maguire after first proposing that a national Labor Day holiday be held on the first Monday in September. The purpose of a National Labor Day is to recognize the immense role that trade labor and labor unions have contributed to our great country!
The influence of the labor unions lead a slue of Federal and State Laws benefitting workers!

So today as we enjoy our day off and crack open a cool one next to the bbq, let’s recognize the value and importance that labor has played in our daily lives and for the United States as a whole!
